Our Mission

The Baltimore City Teachers' Trust, Inc. ("BCTT") is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving student achievement in Baltimore public schools by awarding grants to effective teachers and school leaders working in under-resourced communities.

Our mission:

The Baltimore City Teachers' Trust, Inc. will award grants to exceptional educators who require funding to implement innovative ideas that will have a measurable impact on student achievement and the classroom environment in the Baltimore City Public School System.

For more information about the BCTT, download the official PDF description of the organization.

BCTT grants range from $500 to $1500 and enable teachers to implement programs and strategies that would otherwise go unfunded and, therefore, unrealized. For example, one former BCTT grant recipient used BCTT funds to design and administer an after-school reading program for his middle school students; another used her BCTT grant to fund an extracurricular program for seventh and eighth grade girls focused on social skills. The BCTT welcomes innovative proposals from all teachers in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
